In Tamale's Northern Region, a quiet revolution is taking shape — one leather stitch at a time. LifeSpring Global Foundation's #GirlsWithSkills project is equipping young women with leather-craft skills and the entrepreneurship mindset to turn those skills into income.
Participants in the programme learn to design and produce leather goods — handbags, wallets, and sandals — while also receiving training in pricing, marketing, and business planning. For many, this is the first time they have had access to structured vocational training.
"Before this programme, I didn't think I could start my own business. Now I know I can." — Programme participant
The #GirlsWithSkills initiative not only builds technical skills but also fosters self-confidence, community solidarity, and economic independence for young women who have faced significant barriers to opportunity.
